Is there a Risk?
I'm working in Company 'A'. My company is filing for H1 extension for me along with my wife's H4 Extension in the month of April (before that it is not possible it seems - according to lawyer or Imm. dept of company 'A')
Company 'B' is filing H1 visa for my wife on April 1st.
So my question is: Is there a RISK to file 2 separate petitions (H4 Extension and H1) in the same time frame?
If yes, what's the option?
If no, should I say to my employer or lawyer (Company 'A') to not to file H4 extension for my wife because of the overlap of time frames?

Hello Friends
My EB2 petition was filed in TSC in June 2009 and on July 20 2009 I received an email saying that " my approval notice was sent".Today the status changed to " Document mailed ON juLY 24 2009 " and also my previous eb1a denial in Feb 2009 got a soft LUD.
I am totally confused by this . Can some one offer their opinion on this strange development ?
Appreciate your help in advance

in how many days did u get EAD approved.
i applied (efile )in the second week of may done with FP and got CPO mail on 28th june , till now no approval mail or EAD Card
did u get Approval mail before getting actual EAD Card?

My I-485/I-140 were filed on Jul 2, 2007 (I-140 approved in 9/2007). I possess an EAD valid till Sep 2010 and AP valid till Aug 2009. I lost my job (H1B) in late January. I have a family emergency compelling me to travel to India for a week (starting Saturday next week 04/04/2009). Will there be any problem in terms of using my AP to re-enter the U.S? An early reply would be appreciated. Thank You very much in advance.

Thank you, I looked through the blog but it didnt have any posts that could answer my queries. I am just trying to find out if it is ok to travel if I have a pending case with USCIS? Also, if my H4 goes out of status on 09/23/2010, then does that mean I have immediately leave the country? Any answers would help, thanks.

You are still a legal permanent resident and can apply for a job proving your eligibility with your Social Security card and valid drivers license/state ID.
Get a new card by filling out form I-90 with USCIS and pay the required fees.

I am planning to go to Canada for H1B visa stamping. Will there be any problem if i have company on H1B. I opened in 2003 and My friend is working in that company. I am working for my employer only. Will there be any problem if i have company either in GC stage or getting Visa in Canada.

You can venture business interest even if you are on H1 unless you dont work for that company..
