What is the purpose of this poll? Why start from 2005 (and not from 2001) ?
trueguy has a poll started for period from 2001 to 2004 and I have started this for 2005-2008.
The limitation is that we can have maximum of 10 entries in a polling!!!
Not sure if the core have more options.

Did you get your extension? Please let me know, after how many days u got u'r extention.....am also in same situation .My H1-B extension was filed on sept 1st,requesting for additional 3 years (after the 1st 6 yrs) to VSC on regular basis. My labor and I-140 were also approved. The case has been pending since then.

06/06/2008: U.S. STEM Advance Degree Numberical Limit Exempt Immigration Bill Introduced in the Senate
There is a bill pending in the House which was introduced by Rep. Zoe Lofgren of California which is similar to this new Senate bill which was introduced yesterday by Sen. Barbara Boxer of California. The House bill is H.R. 6039 and the Senate bill is S. 3084. Both of these bills propose to exempt U.S. advanced degree holders working for the U.S. employers from the numerical limit in the employment based immigration. The full text of the House bill is posted on May 11, 2008.

A question on consular processing vs I-485. She already has a tourist visa. Also since she is deriving her green card status from mine, her priority date is current. Could she come to US on her tourist visa and we file for I-485 here instead of doing consular processing?

Just an FYI, I applied my wife's I-485 with the Birth Certificate issued by Indian Embassy in Houston, TX....I went there personally and got it issued the same day...They issue it based on the DOB in your passport...Then later I got her BC done from the local municipality along with affidavits from her parents...I sent them to my attorney and he said he will only send them to USCIS if they send a RFE asking for the same.....He said its of no use to mail them without an RFE as they will lose them.....My PD is EB-3 India Nov 2003, and I haven't received any RFE so far regarding her BC...
Is there any LUD for the filed I-485..If there is a LUD and no RFE, then I am surely go and get one from Indian embassy.

PTs are licensed by the state government. If you are engaged already, you may want to start the licensing process right away because it takes many months and she can get things like transcripts done quicker if she is available locally.
1. Get her credentials evaluated from FCCPT
2. Apply for licensing to the state government
3. Take remedial courses if any are required. This can take few months or many years depending on the course she attended outside the US and the requirements of the state you are looking to live in.
4. Re-apply for licensing.
5. Apply for work visa or work on EAD derived from your application.

1. You will have to repeat the credential verification and licensing for each state you move to.
2. States change their licensing requirements all the time, so you may find yourself in a situation where some state in the future refuses to license her because their requirements have changed. Only way to guard against this is to join a DPT or MPT program and get an American credential.

it will at some point of time but not in this months bulletin or in the near future. Folks , for someone with March 2004 Eb3 India PD , is converting to Eb2 really going to help in any way at all ? Please suggest.

Reusing the priority date for EB2 -- you may need to file one more I -140 for EB2 and then once approved with earlier priority date then you can proceed with 485 if current.
Some people are filing I-485 if any of their PD is current and trying to convince the service center. Check in immigrationportal.com you will find more information.

Its simple,,fill in form 10c and and form 19 and send it to HR. They should even help you get it direct deposit in to your local account in India. I got mine....it was pain-less. This was not with tcs,,,another company...
My case is not simple but i did not quit in usa either..i resigned without doing the notice period in india sometime back.
So is it possible to file 10C and 19 directly with the PF office and get the money without involving TCS?

You can travel with valid visa and receipt notice of pending petition. If you receive approval while in India your company can send it to you and both you and your wife can get new H1 and H4 stamp

I contacted University Y, but they said they don't keep I-20 copies that are 7 years old.

I recently got laid off and the company I was working for stated that it will revoke my H1-B. However, the same company applied for GC 4 years ago and currently the I-485 approval is pending. I did not renew my EAD after it expired last year and just continued on H1-B. I only renewed my wife's EAD which will expire next year. So, can I apply for renewal of EAD now and stay legally in this country while the EAD is being processed.

Saxx, try making sure you don't have other Flash windows up. I'm using the Sound Spectrum analyzer and it doesn't like to share with other flash apps. Close any YouTube windows you have up and try again please.

I think IV community will start working as a coherent team only when we get rid of the Green/Red thingie.
