Do not worry. This sometimes happens, that when a change of status is requested and approved the SSA is unable to see the change in their system. If your H4 to H1 was approved you should receive your Social Security card within a month. I have seen this many times.

That's expected. The CIR contains highly controversial language there dealing with illegal aliens, which is clearly opposed by the majority of Americans. We are in the middle of it. That is it. It is silly expect otherwise. If you follow the results of last elections, you will see that there is a tendency that supporters of illegal alien legalization are losing. More and more we associate our provisions with CIR, less chances for us to see a bill passing.

Ask yourself this question. Are your air miles worth more to you than getting your green card?
There may be some members who will make it to the event if they get their tickets sponsored. While we can sit all day and talk about the reasons they should pay for their own tickets, lets keep that aside and get something done. At least they are willing to come if someone sponsored their tickets.

This is a good thread.. I would like to find out if I can continue my GC process if I move internationally till my PD becomes current..

I have applied for h1 transfer, uscis asking for purchase order.When i check with my employer he told me i have to get into project as soon as possible other wise H1b transfer will be rejected.I have a query? My wife is GC card holder, when she files for me at time of getting her citizenship, will issue occurs due this H1B reject?

Switch from Adjustment of Status (AOS) to Consular Processing. The caveat is you lose your EAD and will have to wait for your PD to be current before you can work in the US again. Unless you get a new H1 and want to start over!

I always belive Premium is better and this is just a rumour that it attracts RFE.
The reason is plain and simple, let's say that you change to Company B and since normal processing takes anywhere from 3-6 months (let's say in meantime your old employer cancells your H1B) and at end of say 3-6 months you come to know that your H1B transfer to company B is denied you have no option but to leave country.
Whereas in permium in 15 days you will know if that is through or not and GOD forbidden even if that gets rejected , you still have paystubs which will be just 15 days old, still you can do another H1B transfer with a new employer.

Hi,
I am Planning to go TORONTO for my 2 H1B visa stamping.In my first experience my application was under administrative processing for 6 months, but since I have AP and EAD I came back,then when they called my Passport was about to expire in 5 Months so with my new passport it went into administrative processing for 2 more weeks then I was asked to come down to toronto and I got my H1-B
Now here are my concerns specially how to prove
1) Employer employee scenario( what docs will prove VO, I work as a IT consultant at third party have my H1B approved till 2013, visa is expired,Vendor is ready to give letter , client does not have this policy )
2) My project end date is feb 2011, what if he asks me what will i do after that, how to convince?
3) will my previous administrative processing triigers for admin processing again ? I heard that once you went to admin processing after that any time you go for stamping you will go through admin processing?
4) Will use of Advanc parole (in case of admin processing) TO come to US in anyway cause issues when admin processing is done and visa is to be issued?
5) Is it safe to go to HomecountrY(Hyderabad,India) than toronto since I dont have US Degree but I did study MS for 3 semesters yet to complete
6)If I Marry and wants to use AP to enter but work on H1 status, can I still have my wife go for H4 Interview with my expired VISA but unexpired I-797 and she comes on H4 and I come back using AP and work on H1 status?
