hello all,
Has anyone in Charlotte, NC got a extension on the Driver's license on the basis on the H1-B renewal application receipt.
My spouse's driver's license expires this month end. I have applied for h1-b/h4 renewal, yet to receive the application receipt.But wanted to know if anyone here in Charlotte,NC got a extension/grace (30days or 90days) on the basis of the receipt.

In Dallas I couldnt get based on the receipt. They asked me the I-94. But it was for the H4.

I think the point of focus in the shot of the guy in the boxing stance needs to be his face. Plus, his knuckles seem slightly blown out. In the shot of the guy kneeling, again the focal point seems a bit misplaced. It looks like it is on the inside of his left thigh, and I think I would want it to be his face. shollow DOF portraits can be really tricky.

Does anybody has information on the current lag between check cashing and getting receipt in the mail?
My check for 485 was cashed on August 20 (process by my bank) and the online case status says receipt was mailed out. But my lawyer has not received it as of today.

If you are a IV member living in NY and want to be actively engaged in the NY chapter activities, please send a PM to bottlemani. If all those in NY get together, it will be easier to plan joint visits to congress people: house members and senators. Even if you don't have a car, we will be able to coordinate better if we know you are willing to spare some time.
I am sure there are many members in NY. It is a big state with several businesses.
Please do remember: we have to do something more actively in order to get out of this mess. The more we procrastinate, the worse it will get. If you have suggestions, regardless of whether you live in NY, please do post them here.

I want to start a thread for tracking cases which were transfered from one place to other and to estimate that if we are getting in the back of the queue OR receipt date is acknowledged.
My I 485 transfered from TX to CAL and now to NEBRASKA.
131 AND 765 says received and pending at California
package was received at Texas on 23rd July and Cal center issued notice on Sep 24.
Please let me know if anyone has similar case.

Sorry, I was not sure what test I missed. I thought everything was done and was mentioned in I-693. I do not have copy of I-693 I submitted. I will try to get it from doctor. Pending of that, is this common test which I must have it and mention it on the I-693? I need to submit just TB Skin test or everything?

I am filing for Advance Parole for my wife. What documents do you suggest I submit along with the application in addition to those listed on USCIS website? What is a better option to use - e-filing or via regular mail?
She plans to travel around last week of February. Is there a way to expedite processing of the AP document? Do I need to buy an airline ticket for her in advance to show the urgency of AP?

It will be better for u to renew ur H1 while here is US....and before ur current H1 expires...unless u want to go to india for some specific reason for 6 months..
Get it renewed via preium processing..should be done in 15-20 days...then book apptt for VISA in India and go get it stamped.

My online 485 status shows "card/document production" for a long time now and I did not get the card yet. I had contacted USCIS several times thru lawyer and never got any reply. My lawyer said that could have been a mistake.
I finally called hte USCIS directly and got the reply from the Phone rep that my 485 is approved and will open a ticket to find out why my card has not arrived. After a week or so I got a letter from USCIS quoting my earlier call and said my PD is Jan'04 and currently the availablity is only for Apr '02 and I have to wait till the PD is current for case.
There was never an explanation about why my online status shows the card/document in production.
In this case, what are my options ? Please help.
Can't explain the kind of emotional and psychological trauma we go thru ever since we saw online status and subsequent messages from USCIS.

You can extend apply for AP (Advance Parole) ;-) at anytime provided you have your 485 pending so there should be no "risks"
only risk i see is that what if you have to travel and for some reason your H1 stamping gets delayed (if you have a AP you will be safe there)
Also their processing times keep on fluctuating - what if you later down the road are
in need of AP apply for one and then dont get it approved by the time you want to travel
Personally I prefer to just keep things simple and apply for AP renewals even though
I wont use them - just so that there is no "divergence" from the norm
Just so when USCIS officer is processing your case they wont have to think or

First renew your passport as soon as possible.
After that go to your local CBP office and request for I-94 update by showing your approved H1B petetion. If you are lucky, the CBP official might correct your I-94.
If not, apply for your H1B extension bfr your I-94 expires( a month bfr will do) as you can file for H1B extension six months bfr the current one expires ...

I don't think you need to change that I-94. But you need it to prove your last POE and date. My I94 stapled on the PP expired long time back. I just kept extending my H1 to have the valid stay.
Ofcourse you can renew you PP and keep the old I94 with your new PP. Try to do emergency PP renewal though.
